About Patient / Physician Cooperatives

OR-BadgePatient Physician Cooperatives of Portland is a locally managed non-profit Oregon Cooperative, formed in 2011 by citizens and volunteers in the greater Portland area, interested in making a positive impact on the health status of the uninsured in Oregon. By offering direct access to medical care and wellness education programs, members can experience a healthier life. Early diagnosis and treatment of chronic illnesses, also means fewer emergency room visits and hospital stays.

PPC is not an insurance product or discount program; it is a group of physicians, health practitioners and patients working together to improve the overall health and welfare of the community. Contracts for medical services are made directly between the patient and physician members. And, unlike most insurance companies, PPC has no exclusions for age, income, or pre-existing conditions.

This is a great alternative to expensive insurance for individuals or small businesses that want to provide healthcare for their employees. Our co-op includes Over 80 Providers that are offering care and healing to co-op members right now!
